Task 2 assignment sheet:   You will write a five-paragraph essay about exponential population growth.  The questions you will answer in your essay are:

How has the world’s population grown exponentially?

What is a specific example of an effect relating to high population?

                Why will the population’s growth rate level off?

 

The purpose of this assignment:

-to synthesize math skills and graphing support in an essay 

 

-to explore and practice using English vocabulary and structure to discuss statistical and graphed data 

 

-to practice a good process of breaking the assignment into steps: research, drafts, revisions, editing, use of readers, etc.

 

-to apply essay organization to a new topic
